ZINESWAP

How many times do you come across an idea and think "Why didn't I think of that?"

Well ZINESWAP is one of those ideas...

ORANGE DOT GALLERY PRESENTS IN JUNE…
ZINE / DOT
A Showcase Exhibition of Contemporary Zine Publishing from Zineswap

‘One of the reasons we decided to do it is because after being in London for a year or two we began to realise we were consuming a lot, but you don’t really produce anything. You’re being influenced by all these different things, but you’re not really reacting to them’

Since setting up Zineswap several years ago, Robert Peart and Gordon Armstrong have been offering a resource and opportunity for different artists and individuals to share their own zine creations, whilst themselves, slowly building a vast archive of contemporary Zine publishing. For the month of June the Orange Dot Gallery is proud to announce an exciting exhibition from zineswap, which brings you the rare opportunity to view their vast archive collection of contemporary zine publishing in a very special installation. www.zineswap.com

CONTEMPORARY ZINE COLLECTION
The whole archive collection will be showcased in specially designed shelving created by Paul Teigh, with his work-partner Martin Russell. Based on the lo-fi, mass-production aesthetic of zines, the shelving will utilise a similar language, allowing the zines to be shown off by cover, and also to be flicked through as if they were in a comic shop. These specially designed units will be available for purchase through a month long silent auction. www.paulteighandmartinrussell.com

SWAP ONSITE
There will also be a trust-based swap box available for the duration of the show, so people can come down and swap their stuff onsite at the gallery.
